The Causes of
Robbery
Robbery is a crime of stealing money or goods from a
bank, shop, etc. Mostly, robbery cases are using violence. The victims of
robbery usually want to defend themselves but they do not have any preparation
or ability to do it. It makes the victims get hurts or injuries even in some
cases the victims were dead. Usually, economical factors and bad environment are
the causes of robbery.
Indonesia which has so many poor people often faces robbery cases. Robbers are usually poor people. Most of suspect of robbery give
the police reason that they are poor and have no choice but to rob. Many robbers
are jobless, they cannot make money to buy foods and other primary needs. Their
poverty forces them to choose the easiest way, robbing.
Environment is a place where attitude of someone formed. Especially,
family as the first environment is the base that determine someone’s attitude. Attitude
also depends on the school or society. When someone grows in a broken-home and
lives in a bad society, it is almost certain he would be a bad guy and hard to
seek a job. He would think that the easiest way to make money is by stealing
money or property from a person or shop.
Robbery is not only the problem of government but also society’s
problem. Government and society have to work together, government has to punish
the robbers seriously while society helps each other to survive and keep the
better attitude. Government has to remove jobless or poverty soon. If poverty
is no longer exist and the people have good attitude automatically the number
of robbery cases will be decreased rapidly.
